Iran Press/Iran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press news, Iran's Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Masoud Soltanifar said on Sunday, "The Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), led by the late Lieutenant Gen. Qasem Soleimani, managed to clear vast areas of Syrian and Iraqi soil from the Takfiri groups of ISIS by organizing resistance fighters."
"Certainly, if this had not happened we would have been fighting ISIS today on the borders of our country," Soltanifar added.
He went on to say, "Martyred Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani exemplifies the model of combating terrorism, violent thinking, and extremism."
"We hope that his companions, comrades and other commanders can fill his place. Rest must be assured that the future political equations in the Middle East will be such that the Americans and their associates will be deported from the region, and we will soon see the victory of the resistance in many areas," Iran's Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports concluded.
Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani was assassinated along with several senior members of Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) on Friday Morning 3 January at Baghdad International airport.
Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani was awarded by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as the first Iranian military official to hold Iran’s highest military order, the Order of Zulfaqar after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. 104/219
