Tehran (IP) - On the first day of the Civil Defense Week, Iran's National media known as Islamic Republic of Iran's Broadcasting (IRIB) opened a new radio network named Radio Paydar (Radio Resistance).

Iran PressIran news: The event was attended by IRIB's Deputy Director for National Radio Shaahid Mozaffari and Head of Iran Civil Defense Organization Brigadier General Gholamreza Jalali.
 
Iran's Radio Resistance is accessible to the addressees at FM 95.5 MHz, broadcasting the instructive and informative programs centered on civil defense.    

"In Radio Paydar, paying attention to public opinion and interacting with the Iranian people with the aim of improving security in Iran is on the agenda," Mozaffari said in the inauguration ceremony.

He stressed that improving the level of security in Iran would only be possible through creating a culture and providing the correct information about civil defense to the people.

Also, Brigadier General Jalali addressed the school students in a speech that was broadcast live via the online educational networks (SHAD system) in Iran's schools:

"The enemy has changed its weapons and strategy of military attack due to the increase of Iran's deterrence power, which has caused it to abandon the idea of direct war because it is aware of Iran's deterrence power."

The head of Iran's civil defense organization added: "Accordingly, in recent years, 8 specialized bases in the field of civil defense, including cyber, military, chemical, biological, people-centered, economic, radiation and physical defense bases, have been established in the country's civil defense organization." 

"The goal of the bases is to monitor and identify threats and adopt an appropriate strategy to deal with the type of threats," according to him.

3,000 honorary reporters in different parts of Iran are supposed to cooperate with the Radio Paydar network. 

October 30 is the anniversary of the decree of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution to establish the “Standing Committee on Civil Defense”. 

The occasion has been named Civil Defense Day in the official Iranian calendar.
