Iran Press/ Iran News: The Raad-500 solid-fuel missile, which was unveiled in February 2020 by IRGC Aerospace Force, is a missile made in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
It has been produced with technologies such as the use of carbon fiber bodies and new 'Zohair' propellants with non-metallic and composite bodies.
The use of carbon fiber in the construction of the body of this missile enables Raad-500 to withstand the pressure and tension of the initial moments of firing, and according to published information, it can withstand 100 bar pressure and temperature of 3000 degrees Celsius.
The non-metallic and carbon composite body will also help reduce the missile's radar cross-section, enabling the missile to easily pass through missile defense systems.
Another advantage of using carbon fiber is the lightening of the missile, which helps to make it more agile.
In the Raad-500 model, it also increases its range, so that this missile weighs less than a half of the Fateh-110 missile, which has a metal body. Its range also has increased by 200 km to 500 km.
