Iranian women win championship of Asian Taekwondo

Tehran (IP) - The Asian Taekwondo Championships hosted by Tehran ended with the championship of the Iranian women's team.

Iran PressIran news: The third round of women's Asian Taekwondo Championships started on Sunday in Tehran with 138 taekwondokas from Jordan, Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Russia, and India. 

The competitions were ended on Monday.

Snatching seven gold and one silver medal, the Iranian women taekwondo team stood first in the competitions, winning the championship with 931 points. 

The Russian team stood second with one gold and one bronze and 187 points. Indian taekwondokas also stood 3rd with two bronze medals and 57 points. 

Meanwhile, the Iranian men taekwondokas won the 31st edition of the Fajr Cup International Taekwondo Competition championship title.

171 Taekwondo competitors from Iran, Armenia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, Russia, Iraq, Lebanon, and India participated in the competition held at Esteghlal Parsian Hotel in Tehran.
