Iran Press/ Middle East: Ebrahim Raisi said that there is yet the familiarization of the Iranian and Syrian businessmen is achieved with each other's capacities for the economic relations between the two countries to shore up.
Raisi made the remarks in the meeting with the Iranian and Syrian businessmen in Syria, on Thursday, May 4, 2023.
He referred to the hard times the Syrian nation suffered during 12 years of the US-backed ISIS terrorist group's invasion of Syria and said that the arrogant powers and their affiliated terrorist groups must be held accountable.
Today the victory of the Syrian people against the terrorists and their supporters after 12 years of resistance should be celebrated, Raisi said.
He referred to his meeting with the businessmen, saying the goal of the meeting was to remove the obstacles in the way of the two countries relations in different areas.
President Raisi put emphasis on the formation of a Syrian-Iranian-Lebanese joint economic commission.
He highlighted Iran's advancements accomplished under sanctions and stated the sanctions on Syria also will turn into opportunities for the Syrian nation thanks to their efforts and resistance.
During the meeting such issues were discussed with the Iranian president as the removal of obstacles in the way of marine and aerial transits, the continual support for ground transits, the amendment of reexport law, the opening of a joint bank between the two countries, the facilitation of Syrian businessmen's familiarity with their Iranian counter parts' capabilities, paving the way for marine transportation from the Syrian ports to Lebanon, and preparing strong insurance for the businessmen.
