However, the Mongolian lifter briefly took the lead with a lift of 248 kg. But Gharib Shahi was not to be denied. In his second attempt, he raised the bar to an incredible 252 kg, breaking both the Paralympic and world records.

The Iranian powerhouse attempted to push his limits further with a 261 kg lift in his final attempt, but a technical error prevented him from succeeding. Nonetheless, his previous lifts were more than enough to secure the gold medal and cement his place as one of the greatest powerlifters in the world.
