Iran Press /Iran news: In an open session of the Majlis on Wednesday attended by 221 MPs, parliamentarians approved amendments to existing legislation which will make parliamentary elections from now on provincial rather than national.
155 members of parliament voted in favor of the legislation, 64 members voted against, and 2 MPs abstained from voting, Iran Press reported.
The Committee on Councils and Internal Affairs will review the details of this plan within a week.
