Kurdestan (IP) - Iran's President says that intellectualism does mean self-alienation and getting westernized in lifestyle, but it is the proper recognition of the needs of the society and trying to fulfill them, what was carried out by the martyrs.

Iran PressIran News: Following his provincial trips across Iran to meet with the people and address their affairs, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, arrived in Kurdestan Province on Friday, west of the country, and then attended the people of Saqez city and delivered a speech.

Raisi stressed that the intellectuals of the Iranian soil were not those who encouraged people to be westernized in their lifestyles but the Iranians who recognized their society and its needs and jeopardized their lives to fulfill the very needs like martyrs.

He also appreciated the people of Kurdistan province, including the people of Saqez, for protecting the borders against the enemies in the 8-year war against the Iraqi Ba'athist regime, where two thousand people of the city were martyred for protecting the Iranian soil and its borders. He then called on the cinema and film experts to depict the sacrifices and resistance of the people of Kordestan against the country's enemies to transfer the culture to the next generations.
