New York (IP)- On the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session in New York, Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs , met with the Foreign Minister of Brunei, and exchanged views on topics of mutual interest, including bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments.

Iran PressAmerica: On the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session in New York, Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amirabdollahian met with the Foreign Minister of Brunei, Dato Erywan Yusof, and exchanged views on topics of mutual interest, including bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments.

The Iranian foreign minister invited high-ranking Bruneian officials to visit Iran and added that the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the development of bilateral relations with the country.

Amirabdollahian appreciated the positions of the Mufti of Brunei at the Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran and emphasized the need for unity among Islamic countries to deal with extremism and terrorism.

The Iranian foreign minister thanked Brunei for its positive position in international forums.

For his part, the foreign minister of Brunei welcomed boosting cooperation with Iran at various levels and expressed hope for stepped-up meetings and exchange of delegations, emphasizing that the cooperation between the two countries will continue in international forums.

Erywan Yusof also condemned the crimes by the Zionist regime in Palestine and supported the continuation of cooperation with Islamic countries, including Iran, on the Palestinian issue.
