Tehran (IP) - The spokesperson of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran and his Azerbaijani counterpart will meet on the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit in Baku.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking at his press conference on Monday, and in response to Iran Press correspondent about the importance of the meeting of foreign ministers of the Non-Aligned Movement, Nasser Kanani emphasized: "This important and deep-rooted organization has an important framework and role in the international field."

Referring to the telephone conversation between the foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan, Kanani said: "The Republic of Azerbaijan's foreign minister emphasized the necessity of Iran's presence at the highest level."

Considering the importance of bilateral relations and in response to the invitation of his Azerbaijani counterpart, the Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian will participate in a meeting at the head of a delegation, Kanani pointed.

Stating that these meetings can contribute to resolveing of misunderstandings between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan, the spokesperson of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: "The diplomatic atmosphere between the two countries has been formed, and I emphasize that it is positive."

He stressed: "The visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs will give more momentum to the relations."
