Iran Press/ Iran News: The talks between Mohammad Ebrahim Taherianfard and Deborah Lyons focused on the latest status related to the inter-Afghan talks and the peace process in Afghanistan and the achievement of lasting stability through diplomatic means.
The meeting comes as a political delegation from the Taliban arrived in Tehran today to meet with Iranian officialsTaherian also discussed bilateral relations and the Afghan peace process with Afghan Foreign Minister Mohammad Hanif Atmar, yesterday.
The Special envoy also stressed in talks with the Special Representatives of Russia and Germany on Afghanistan the need to reduce violence and to work together for the establishment of lasting peace through diplomatic means. He mentioned the inter-Afghan talks as the most appropriate way to end the crisis in Afghanistan and reduce the suffering of the people of the country, and expressed his country's readiness to provide any assistance in this direction.
