Tehran (IP) - Secretary of Iran’s High Council for Human Rights says two Iranian nationals in custody in the US are not in a favorable condition.

Iran PressIran news: Meeting with the new Ambassador of Swiss to Tehran, Kazem Gharibabadi, said that the two Iranians who had been in US custody since the last year are not in good condition. 

Gharibabadi said: "One of the two is Reza Sarhangpour living in Canada, who was arrested by the US border guards; He is under house arrest and has to pay heavy rent for the continuation of the arrest." 

He said that Sarhangpour's access to healthcare services had been cut off and that his health condition was worrying; in cases that he has received limited health services, he has paid for them.

The Iranian official criticized some western countries' double standards of human rights and said that the instrumental use of human rights issues, which were often adopted by the US and some other western countries, was reprehensible and contrary to human ideals.

Some European countries shelter terrorists whose hands are stained with the blood of over 17 thousand innocent Iranian people, and they are not condemning the terrorist actions against the Iranian citizens, indicate their double standard approach to human rights, he noted.
