Iran Press/ Asia: The fourth edition of the Para-Asian Games in Hangzhou, China was officially opened on Saturday. The Iranian team, known as the Children of Iran, began their competition on Sunday 22 October with 210 athletes participating in 16 sports.
Hangzhou 2022 takes place from Oct. 22 to 28. An estimated 3,000 athletes compete across 22 sports.
Today, Saturday, Fatemeh Amirzadgani won the gold medal in the T12 class 400 meters with a time record of 59:88 seconds.
Mehrdad Moradi seized a gold medal in the 2022 Asian Para Games on Saturday.
Zafar Zakir, who had previously won a silver medal in the weight throw, stood as the runner-up in the men's javelin throw in the F55 class with a personal best of 33.58 meters.
Mohammadreza Zandi faced a representative from Japan in the W1 class archery classification and won with a result of 136-130 and snatched the bronze medal.
Iran's representative Niko Rozbahani won a bronze medal in the women's para weightlifting +86 kg category.
The Iranian chess players shined by winning 2 golds, 4 silvers and 2 bronzes in the speed section of the women's team division and in class VI-B1, and the Iran team won the gold medal overall.
In the men's division and in class VI-B1, the Iranian team won the silver medal. In the men's team division of the PI class, the Iranian team won the silver medal.
In the women's individual class VIT-B1, Malihe Safai won gold and Leila Zarezadeh won bronze.
In men's individual in PI class, Abolfazl Kazhmian won the silver medal.
In the men's team division of the VIT-B2/B3 class, the Iranian team won the silver medal.
Iran's national blind football team reached the runner-up position after defeating China in penalty kicks.
Ahmad Aminzadeh won the championship in the 107+ kg weightlifting category. Mehdi Sayadi also won silver. 219
