Iran Press/Iran News: Deputy Coordinator of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari and the head of the Coronavirus Combat Headquarters of Tehran Provine, Dr. Alireza Zali attended the ceremony as well.
The commander of the Army's bio-defense base, Habibollah Sayyari said in the ceremony that the goal of setting up the complex by the army in Tehran was to demonstrate the capabilities of the army and help the country's health system to reduce the length of Hospitalization and rehabilitation process for Coronavirus patient's treatment.
The complex is set up in the permanent location of Tehran International Exhibitions and has the capacity to accommodate 1000 more beds. The aim to set the complex up is to help other hospitals and the health system in Covid-19 patient reception more by transferring part of their discharged patients in the rehabilitation process.
On March 23, Sayyari had said that the ability to implement the mission to set up the complex and holding biological defense military exercise would show the readiness of the country to defend against a biological attack.
“We have provided our hospitals with required medical equipment to the health network of the country in order to disinfect religious centers, hospitals, and cities,” Sayyari added.
Earlier, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei assigned the Armed Forces to work on the necessary methods to prevent a further spread of coronavirus, in addition to the other activities such as treatment of patients and establishment of medical centers like field hospitals and convalescent homes. 101/212
