Iran Press/Iran news: Ali Shamkhani underlined the Iranian nation’s vigilance and power to thwart the US plots, saying they will defeat US President Donald Trump, who has re-imposed sanctions against the country.
He also warned of Washington’s plots to disintegrate the country, stressing the Iranian nation’s capability to defeat the US, Iran Press reported.
“The US is seeking to disintegrate Iran’s territorial integrity and seeks disintegration and weakening of modern Iran which is powerful and is present in the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea,” Shamkhani said, addressing a forum in the southern city of Ahvaz on Wednesday.
Speaking at a meeting of the Administrative Council of Semnan Province on December 5, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani said, the US sanctions against Iran could become a unique opportunity and there is no way but to resist the American pressure.
The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran also went on to say, “Today in Iran, there is exemplary security because of the devotion and self-sacrifice of the armed forces, and Iran is definitely more secure than Europe and other countries of the Middle East.”
On 8 May, US President Donald Trump pulled his country out of a nuclear deal struck by Iran and six world powers known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action under which Iran agreed to curb its nuclear program in exchange for lifting of sanctions.
The US president also reinstated the sanctions already lifted under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and vowed to impose the highest level of economic ban on Iran.
The second round of US sanctions against Iran targeting Iranian oil exports, shipping, aviation industry and banking sector, went into effect on Monday 5 November. 101 /211
