Tehran (IP) - Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations said the country would support the improvement of the diplomatic ties between Syria and the world, particularly Arab countries to ensure Syria's prosperity.

Iran PressAmerica: Delivering a speech in the UN Security Council (UNSC) Amir-Saeed Iravani said: "Iran welcomes Turkish-Syrian talks as a part of the Astana Talks along with its partners to re-establish sustainable peace and security in the country."

Iravani condemned the Israeli regime's attacks on Syria and stated that the UNSC must put aside its double standard policy toward Syria and respond to the country's request for ending the Israeli aggressions on Syrian soil.

Iravani pointed to the sanctions against the Syrian nation as a major obstacle in the way of their prosperity and noted that the sanctions have left destructive effects on the people's livelihood and the Syrian government cannot afford to provide the nation with basic services.

He also called for the withdrawal of foreign forces, especially the US troops, from Syrian soil, pointing out that the US presence in Syria was the origin of insecurity in the country.

Especially from the outbreak of ISIS, the US deployed its forces in Syria under the pretext of the 'war on terror', yet it has been looting the oil and natural resources of the country.

Syrian Foreign Ministry, in a statement on Saturday evening, announced that the looting of oil and natural resources of this country by American forces is a clear example of banditry, and it is contrary to international laws.
