Tehran (IP) - Special Representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry for Afghanistan Affairs on Tuesday in a telephone conversation with the chairman of the High Reconciliation Council of Afghanistan stressed Iran's supportive role in the Afghan peace process while urging greater Afghan interactions.

Iran Press/Iran News: Mohammad-Ebrahim Taherian on Tuesday, in a telephone conversation with Abdullah Abdullah, Chairman of the High Reconciliation Council of Afghanistan, discussed the developments in this country and the visit of the Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Afghanistan to Tehran.

In this conversation, Abdullah Abdullah called for continued support for the peace process in that country.

In response, Mohammad-Ebrahim Taherian reiterated the Islamic Republic of Iran's support for efforts in the Afghan peace process, noting the need for greater interaction among the country's various factions to accelerate the peace process.
