Iran Press- Brigadier Mohammad Ahadi made the remarks in the city of Tabriz on Friday. Iran’s investment in its defense industry is much less compared to some regional countries, he said, adding that it is not comparable to a country like the United Arab Emirates, (UAE) reported IRNA.
Saudi Arabia ranks third in the world in terms of defense and military spending , but Iran, even though it spends and invests far less in its defense industry, actually provides more security in the region (compared to Saudi Arabia).
Ahadi stressed the fact that enjoying independence has its requirements such as self-sufficiency.
He also referred to military and economic power as two important factors in providing national security.
Commenting on the reason why the enemy has targeted Iran's missile power, Ahadi said this military technology provides us with strategic defensive power.
