Iran Press/America: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Liz Trussduring in the meeting discussed JCPOA ( Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action ), US sanctions on Iran, Nuclear talks, and exchange of two countries prisoners.
Trussduring said that the meeting with Iranian counterpart was an "Important meeting" and release of detained British nationals, "nuclear deal," as well as "Vienna talks," were the main issues of discussions.
At the meeting, the Iranian Foreign Minister stressed the need to take serious steps to rebuild bilateral relations and repay its four-decade debt to Iran.
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, stating that Iran has heard many words and promises in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), but has not seen any action, said: "Unfortunately, Britain is also part of this inaction and this approach must change."
Amir-Abdollahian added: "The US government, with its silence and cooperation with Europe, continues to impose its illegal sanctions and at the same time claims to return to JCPOA."
"This is a clear contradiction that is being carefully observed by the Iranian people," he said.
Amir-Abdollahian stressed the need for Britain to pay attention to the fact that fulfilling its obligations is the only way to rebuild relations, and Tehran will respond appropriately to any positive and constructive step.
During the meeting, the British Foreign Secretary also stated that the country is ready to repay its debts to Iran.
Referring to the nuclear deal, Elizabeth Terrace said that in the case of JCPOA, the main issue now is the attention of all parties to the timing of the start of the dialogue process.
The British Foreign Secretary also thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for facilitating the departure of the remaining British nationals from Afghanistan.
