Tehran(IP): The second international book fair of Iran will be held virtually on January 23 - 30 with the participation of local and international publishers.

Iran PressIran News: The head of the second international virtual exhibition, Ali Ramezani, at a press conference on Sunday elaborated on the future event, saying that 20,000 works from fifteen countries will be displayed at this fair, while the number was 15,000 last year.

He added that the number of local publishers is 2014(till today), while this number was 1847 in the first international book fair.

He went on to say that the exhibition is as big as Iran, and anyone from anywhere can have access to the show at a low price.

Ramezani noted that virtual exhibition is the publishers' demand, which creates an opportunity to demonstrate their products to the audience.

"More than 3000 villages and 1000 cities could benefit from the virtual book exhibition last year in an equal opportunity moving from traditional ways toward new technologies", he stated.

The cooperation of Ministry of Communications and Communication Technology and National Post company in holding the exhibition is undeniable; in this regard, the managing director of Iran's National Post Company referred to last year exhibition and said One million and two hundred thousand books were delivered to 850,000 addresses in 17000 cities and villages.

Amid the spread of Coronavirus, Iran held its annual International book fair virtually last year; since this experience proved to be successful, it will have the second International virtual book fair to keep people's heath amid COVID-19 pandemic.
