Isfahan (IP)- The director of dispatching of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) announced the increase in Iran’s gas exports to Iraq in the Persian calendar year of 1401, which began on March 21.

Iran PressIran News: According to NIGC, Mohammad Reza Julaei said in a meeting with senior officials of the Iraqi Ministry of Power in Isfahan, central Iran: “Our relationship with Iraq is a strategic one.”

Referring to the negotiations in this meeting, he said: “Annual and quarterly meetings are held with the officials of the Iraqi Ministry of Power around the gas export contract with this country, and technical and operational issues of this process were discussed in this meeting.”

Referring to the beginning of the cold season in Iran and the increase in gas consumption in the domestic sector, the NIGC official stated: “Considering the amount of consumption in the last 6 months and the amount of natural gas required in the next 6 months, the necessary technical and operational investigations have been carried out so that we do not have any problems and the gas export is carried out according to the agreement made with the Iraqi parties.”
