Iran Press/Middle East: Hassan Irloo, the Iranian ambassador to Yemen, in a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Yemen's National Salvation Government Hisham Sharaf, stressed that there is no military solution to the Yemeni crisis, adding: "Iran supports all efforts to achieve a comprehensive political solution, national reconciliation and to establish neighborly relations in the interests of the nations of the region that have brought peace and stability to Yemen."
Sharaf for his part appreciated Tehran's principled stance in rejecting the Saudi coalition's military aggression and the siege of Yemen from the first days of the aggression.
Saudi Arabia, with the support of the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and several other countries, has invaded Yemen since March 2015 and besieged this country by land, sea, and air.
The war has so far killed more than 16,000 Yemenis, injured tens of thousands, and displaced millions of others.
