IP - Iran is still planning to retaliate for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, which took place in Tehran in late July, the head of Britain’s MI6 foreign spy agency Richard Moore said Saturday.

Iran Press/Europe: “I suspect they will try and we won’t be able to let our guard down for the type of activity that the Iranians might try and prosecute in that direction,” Moore says at an FT event when asked about whether Iran would retaliate.

Haniyeh was in Tehran for the inauguration ceremony of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. According to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran, Haniyeh and one of his guards were killed when their residence in Tehran was targeted.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has warned the Israeli regime of a "harsh response" for the the assassination of Hamas's Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh, saying it is the Islamic Republic's duty to avenge the blood of the Palestinian resistance leader.

“The criminal and terrorist Zionist regime martyred our dear guest in our homeland and left us bereaved, but it also set the ground for a harsh punishment for itself,” Iran's Leader said. 204
