Levinson has travelled to Iran and then left the country and the Islamic Republic of Iran has no further information about him, Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Saturday.
He noted that Iran has provided help to Levinson family to find him in the past on humanitarian grounds but it has no obligation towards the US government in this field.
The official said that Iran has spared no effort to help find Levinson, rejecting all US accusations in this regard as baseless.
The spokesman criticized the US for imprisoning Iranian nationals for undocumented reasons.
