Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met and conferred with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on Wednesday afternoon, discussing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and economic issues with him.
South Africa is the second largest economy in the African continent and following implementation of JCPOA took big steps towards development of relations with Tehran.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is in South Africa at the head of a political-economic delegation to hold talks with the country’s senior officials on bilateral relations and the future of the Iran nuclear deal following the US’s pullout.
Following a visit by South African president to Tehran in 2016, the two countries took steps to further develop their cooperation in the fields of transportation, shipping, tourism and banking.
Foreign Minister , Zarif, departed South Africa and arrived back in Tehran on Thursday.
