Sistan and Baluchestan (IP) - The Commander of the Ground Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army and the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Iran's Police Department entered the Sistan Region of South-Eastern Iran to investigate the field conditions of the Iran-Afghanistan border areas.

Iran PressIran news: Brigadier General Kyomarth Heydari, Commander of the Ground Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said during his visit to Iran's common border with Afghanistan:

"The common borders with Afghanistan are fully under the control of the Ground Forces of the Army and security is fully established."

The Commander of the Ground Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran added that he has traveled to Sistan for intelligence and security purposes in the common borders with Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.

Brigadier General Qassem Rezaei, the Deputy Chief of Police of Iran during his visit to the Sistan region and visited the conditions of the common border with Afghanistan, said: "It has been several times that there have been mistakes on the part of the rulers of Afghanistan on the common border between Iran and Afghanistan. In the past, unnecessary shootings happened by the neighboring country and countermeasures were taken."

The Deputy Chief of Police of Iran stated: "Currently, the border situation is very calm and there was no attack last night and the issue of yesterday evening has ended."

According to the Iran Press news agency, at around 10:00 am on Saturday, the Taliban forces from the Afghan side, without considering and observing international laws and good neighborliness, started shooting at the Sasoli checkpoint in the Zabul Border Regiment area and faced a decisive response from the border guards of the police force of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
