(IP)- Russian foreign minister said on Monday that Moscow sees reasons for Iran to join the activities of the extended Troika on Afghanistan.

Iran PressAsia: Sergey Lavrov stressed the necessity of Iran's presence in extended Troika on Afghanistan, which consists of Russia, the United States, China, and Pakistan, following the meeting with his Indian counterpart in New Delhi. 

As far as we are concerned, there is every reason to engage countries such as India and Iran in the group's activities," Tass news agency cited the top Russian diplomat. 

Lavrov noted that the parties had also agreed to closely coordinate their activities in Central Asia within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) regarding developments in Afghanistan.
