Iran's political and economic delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is departing for Paris to review a new proposal by French President Emmanuel Macron regarding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking to channel 1 of IRIB on Saturday night, Iranian president’s chief of staff, Mahmoud Vaezi said the politico-economic delegation is due in France on Monday.

Vaezi noted that some proposals had been exchanged between Iran and France over the past two weeks on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), adding that the proposal was the result of a 5-hour telephone conversation between the presidents of Iran and France that has been set as a "blueprint" of the talks.

The Iranian official went on to say that Europeans have made great efforts to preserve the JCPOA in the political dimension, stating that Iran has seriously criticized Europeans for their failure in the economic dimension to carry out their JCPOA-related obligations.

Vaezi added that the JCPOA is valuable for Iran when the country benefits from it, but otherwise it is not worth it.

Iran adopted "strategic patience" for one year after the US withdrawal from the JCPOA, and gave the parties, especially European nations specific deadline to fulfil their obligations under the deal.

European Foreign Ministers on Friday in a joint statement at the end of the Helsinki summit stressed the need to maintain the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Iran on 8 May 2019, suspends part of its commitments citing Articles 26 and 36 of the Agreement a year after the United States withdrew from the deal and reinstated sanctions and EU's ineffective solutions to compensate for the economic consequences of the US' departure from JCPOA.

Iran has said it will take its third step in reducing its nuclear commitments on 6 September, if the Europeans do not take further steps to fulfil their commitments under the deal.
