Iran Press/ Asia: Alireza Haghighian, Iran's new ambassador arrived in Dushanbe, the capital city of the country.
Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, and other Iranian institutions in Tajikistan welcomed the new ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran at Dushanbe International Airport.
The two sides expressed hope for dynamic relations and bilateral cooperation in various fields.
Before being appointed as the ambassador of Iran to Tajikistan, Haghighian held various responsibilities, including director general and assistant for Eurasian affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, director general of security and security advisor to the minister of foreign affairs, Iran's chargé d'affaires in Iraq, Iran's ambassador to Armenia, Iran's ambassador to Pakistan.
Mohammad Taghi Saberi was Iran's ambassador to Tajikistan for about five years before Haghighian.
