Iran Press/ Iran news: Masoumeh Ebtekar said that violence against women in the country is not a major issue and even one case is too much.
In an exclusive interview with Iran Press, Iran's Vice President for Women Affairs Ebtekar addressed the adoption of a bill of protecting women against violence.
She said that the bill was worked on around two years in Judiciary to ensure that it is properly revised.
The bill, she told to the Iran Press correspondent, is currently in the legislative committee of parliament, expressing that it will be successfully adopted by the government.
Ebtekar stressed the importance of the bill saying that it deals with various forms of violence against women which endanger family integrity.
The bill is to protect families and the more it is addressed, the healthier the families will be, she noted.
Masoumeh Ebtekar noted that there is a network of 400 social emergency response centers throughout Iran, ready to provide people with police and social welfare services.
The beneficiaries of the services included women and children for protection against violence including child abuse and domestic violence, according to the Iranian Vice President for Women Affairs.
