Iran Ghaani meets senior Iraqi officials

Baghdad (IP) - The Iranian ambassador to Baghdad announced that the commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) had met with the Iraqi Prime Minister and President.

Iran Press/Middle EastIraj Masjedi, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Baghdad‌, in an interview with Al-Alam on Saturday, announced the meeting of Brigadier General Ismail Ghaani, Commander of the Quds Force of the IRGC with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, as well as Iraqi President Barham Salih and several other officials.

Masjedi further emphasized: "Iran does not interfere in the internal affairs of Iraqi parties and factions in any way. However, these factions prefer to consult with Iran."

Noting that Iran's movements in Iraq are part of strengthening the government and encouraging political factions and currents to unite, the Iranian ambassador to Iraq said: "Resistance groups have a serious problem with the US. The US President Donald Trump should not threaten or provoke anyone, because if they act against the resistance groups, they will surely respond to it."

"All factions, political parties and Iraqi resistance groups have good relations with Iran," Masjedi said.
