Iran Press/ Asia: In a press conference with Ayman Safadi, his Jordanian counterpart in Ankara, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that the meeting of the regional platform “3+3” will be held in Istanbul on October 18.
"Türkiye supports the position that all regional issues should be resolved directly by regional countries," Fidan said. "We continue to consult with the countries of the South Caucasus through the regional cooperation meeting."
Fidan said: "The foreign ministers of Iran, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia will participate in this meeting."
On Tuesday, Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, announced the participation of the foreign ministers of Iran, Russia, Turkey, the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia in a meeting in Turkey.
The 3+3 meeting is an extensive cooperation of 6 countries of the South Caucasus region, including Iran, Russia, Turkey, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia.
Georgia has been invited several times to participate in this regional platform but has not yet joined it.
The first meeting of this platform was held in December 2021 in Moscow and its last meeting at the level of foreign ministers was held in October 2023 in Tehran.
