Iran Press/ Iran news: In a telephone conversation with the UN's head Antonio Guterres on Thursday, Iran's FM Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stressed the shore-up of international aid to the quake-hit people of Syria and Turkey.
An earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale shook the south of Türkiye and the north of Syria on February 6, Monday morning.
Amir-Abdollahian noted that there was also a catastrophic situation in the earthquake-stricken Idlib of Syria because the Syrian government had no access to the area.
Announcing the readiness of Iran to send more aid and rescue teams to the disaster-hit areas, he told Guterres: "The UN's Deputy Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs is expected to pay special attention to the earthquake in Syria and Turkey."
The UN's Head for his part congratulated the anniversary of the Islamic revolution's victory and called for the continuation of regional dialogue and cooperation.
