Tehran (IP) - The new Saudi ambassador to Tehran met Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and submitted a copy of his credentials.

Iran PressIran news: Abdullah Bin Saud Al-Anzi, the new ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Iran, met and consulted with Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the head of the diplomatic apparatus of Iran, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters on Sunday, September 10.

In this meeting, Abdullah Bin Saud Al-Anzi presented a copy of his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran.

Abdullah Bin Saud Al-Anzi arrived in Tehran last Tuesday to take charge of the Saudi Embassy in Iran.

Meanwhile, On Tuesday,  Alireza Enayati, the ambassador of Iran to Saudi Arabia, arrived in Riyadh and was welcomed by the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia in Riyadh.

Both countries upgraded their diplomatic missions to the ambassadorial level.

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan said in August that his country expects a new chapter to be opened in relations between the Saudi Kingdom and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
