Ankara (IP) - The Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Abroad Nationals Affairs said that for the first time, the Secretariat of the High Council of Iranians Affairs has been established in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs aimed at dealing with the affairs of Iranians living abroad.

Iran PressAsia: Abdullah Sohrabi, the Director General of the High Council of Iranians Affairs Abroad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran during his trip to Türkiye said that the mission of the Secretariat of the High Council of Iranians in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran has started in 8 specialized committees and in different departments.

Sohrabi added: "In addition to the inherent missions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in consular affairs, by the order of the President and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, this secretariat is responsible for all affairs of Iranians abroad in political, economic, social, academic matters and issues such as prisoners' affairs and facilitate movement and traffic.

Director General of the High Council of Iranians Affairs Abroad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran also met and discussed with the Iranians living in Türkiye during his trip.

In this regard, separate meetings were held in the cities of Ankara, Istanbul, Antalya, and Izmir, and the issues, problems, and suggestions of compatriots living in Türkiye were discussed and exchanged.

At the same time, the consular staff of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ankara provided consular services to more than 1,200 Iranian compatriots living in the southern cities of Türkiye for three days in the morning and evening shifts.

The consular delegation of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ankara also visited several prisons to meet Iranian prisoners.
