Moscow (IP) - Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs met with the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Presidential Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa to expand cooperation between the two sides.

Iran PressEurope: Iran's Ali Bagheri Kani and Russia's Mikhail Bogdanov held meetings on Friday and discussed bilateral relations to fulfill the two countries' interests. 

The Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali was also present at the meeting accompanying the Deputy FM Bagheri Kani.

Bagheri Kani stresses that Iran would hold the talks with P4+1 countries including Russia, China, France, the UK, and Germany, excluding the US.

Bagheri Kani also is scheduled to have consolations with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov on the impending Vienna talks on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), sharing attitudes about the lifting of the sanctions on Iran.

Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Political Affairs arrived in Moscow on Thursday evening to hold bilateral talks with his Russian counterpart on a new round of talks on lifting the sanctions imposed against Iran.

US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew his country from the international agreement of JCPOA on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, in violation of Washington's obligations under the UN Security Council, and announced the return of nuclear sanctions.
