Iran resumes visa issuance for Iraqi Kurds

(IP) - Iran has resumed issuing tourist visas to Iraqi Kurds on Wednesday, allowing foreign tourists to enter by following health protocols.

Iran PressMiddle East: According to Iran's Consulate General in Sulaymaniyah, the issuance of visas for the Iraqis is free, except for the money (5,000 Dinars by maximum) they pay to register their information in the electronic visa system of the Islamic Republic of Iran. 

Earlier the Iranian Consulate General in Sulaymaniyah halted visa issuance for two weeks as of December 25, 2021, to prevent the spread of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus.   

Meanwhile, health measures in Shahid Haqqani port, the largest passenger terminal in Hormozgan Province, south of Iran, intensified due to the Omicron spread.

Travelers' and tourists' commute in the ports of Hormozgan Province has increased, but recently, the observation of health protocols in the ports has enhanced due to the Omicron variant.
