Iran Press/ Iran News: The Arash/Al- Durra gas field is a joint field between Iran, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia, and parts of it are located in the area of unbounded waters between Iran and Kuwait.
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Saeed Khatibzadeh added: "According to international regulations and procedures, any action in the operation and development of this field must be done in coordination and cooperation of all three countries, and therefore the recent action of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia in the form of a cooperation document is contrary to procedure."
" The current negotiations are previous and illegal and have no effect on the legal status of the field and are not approved by the Islamic Republic of Iran, added he."
Khatibzadeh further stated: "The Islamic Republic of Iran, as it has stated many times, is ready to enter negotiations with neighboring countries, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, on how to exploit this common field, and at the same time within the framework of the results of previous negotiations with Kuwait. It is also ready to continue bilateral talks with Kuwait by delimiting the continental shelf, as well as starting trilateral talks between the three countries on defining a triple point."
In the end, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran also reserves the right to exploit the Arash / Al- Durra gas field.
