Iran's peaceful nuclear program is grounded in its inalienable rights as a member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), the Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman emphasized, dismissing any doubts about the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear activities.

Why it matters:

The U.S. and Israeli regime have increased their smearing campaign after the election of Trump to inculcate to the world's general public that Iran seeks nuclear bombs so that they could justify their warmongering rhetoric against the Islamic Republic.

Context:

In a joint conference with the U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Sunday, Israeli PM Netanyahu claimed a "mighty blow" to Iran over the past 16 months, saying Israel and the U.S. "can and will finish the job" to stop Iran, as they allege, from reaching nuclear bomb.

What he's saying:

Esmail Baghaei notes: Not only is threatening others a gross violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, but for a country like the Islamic Republic of Iran, the response is that they are powerless to act.

  • Iran has the legal responsibility to protect its people and territory from foreign threats.
  • G7 foreign ministers' allegations against Iran are baseless.
  • Stability and security in West Asia require an end to the interventionist policies of the West.
  • There is no Iran-Lebanon contrast; they should act based on longstanding ties.
  • ICAO must intervene to prevent threats, including the Israeli ones, against other countries' aviation security.
  • Iran will utilize Afghan talents both for Afghanistan and itself.
  • No pressure can dissuade S. Africa from its case in ICJ against the Israeli Genocide.
  • Iran-China ties continue to flourish without the interference of a third party.
