Iran ranks among top 10 grapes producing countries

Tehran (IP) - Iran is ranked ninth in the world with the production of 2 million and 450,000  tons of grapes per year.

Iran PressIran news: Grapes is one of the most important fruits whose use by mankind dates back to ancient times and is reached with vitamins A, B, and C.

It is also recognized as a wealthy source of Calcium and magnesium, iron, phosphor, potassium, and albumin.

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), China is the first country to produce this agricultural product with 14 million and 763,000 tons of grapes per year.

After China, Italy and the United States are in second and third place with 8 and 7 million tons per year, respectively.

Iran is ranked ninth in the world with the production of 2 million and 450,000  tons of grapes per year.
