Iran Press/ Middle East: The twentieth edition of the Asian Men's Handball Championship has been held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, since January 19th whose participants include 17 teams. The top five teams in the competition will advance to the 2023 World Cup, hosted by Poland and Sweden.
Today (Monday), in its second match of the main round of the Asian Men's Handball Championship competitions, the Iranian national handball team played against Kuwait and won (27 to 26), so that Iran could advance to the World Cup for the second time.
In the first half of the match, Iran managed to score good shots, but the Kuwaiti goalkeeper did not allow Iran to achieve more goals, and the first half ended in an 11-11 draw.
In its last match of the main round of this tournament, the national handball team of Iran must face Bahrain on Wednesday this week.
The Iranian team had previously participated in the World Championships competitions only in 2015.
In the first round of the competition, the Iranian national handball team was grouped with the teams of Saudi Arabia, India, and Australia and was able to win these three matches and advance to the main round as the leader.
