Karachi (IP)- A conference was held on behalf of the Iranian Consulate in Karachi regarding the promotion of tourism between Iran and Pakistan. 

Iran PressAsia: On this occasion, the city's leading business, political, and social figures, in addition to the Consul Generals of Russia, Malaysia, Kuwait, Japan, and some other countries attended the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Provincial Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, representatives of leading travel agencies of Pakistan, and media personalities participated in large as well.

The Consul General of Iran in Karachi, Hassan Nooryan, in his speech as the host, thanked all the attendees and said that Iran has not only started issuing electronic visas but also two more land border crossings have been opened.

He added, "Earlier the people of Pakistan were traveling through only one land border crossing; however, these two borders have been opened in Remidan and Pishin areas."

He, concerning the Iranian tourist capacities, said that there are countless tourist attractions in Iran and the world organization UNESCO has included five historical places of Iran in the world archeology while some other places are also under consideration in this regard.

The Iranian Consul General said that Tehran has also made significant progress in the medical field and is willing to cooperate with all countries in the region and neighboring countries in this regard. On this occasion, Iftikhar Salahuddin, the author of the book "Persia The Land of Emperors and Kings", also gave a very detailed speech regarding the history and culture of Iran in the light of reliable documents and evidence introducing the important historical and touristic places of Iran.
