Iran Press/Iran News: Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi said, Iran's presence aimed at strengthening of the resistance axis in Syria, foiled the US-Zionist plot to create ISIS for waging a sectarian war.
Speaking in an interview with IRNA, Shekarchi added, the Islamic Republic has the upper hand in countering the US adventurism and Americans know that Iran's armed forces are at the highest level of preparedness and would respond to any threat and aggression by enemies.
Speaking at the start of a parliament session on Saturday, Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said "In the past weeks and months, we witnessed the decisive and unprecedented victory of the Iranian nation against US plots."
“Our nation has today the upper hand at least in the political and legal arenas. The world public opinion recognizes Iran as a country that adheres to its commitments and the US as a country that does not live up to its promises and violates international regulations,” Rouhani pointed out.
At the request of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Iran has been providing military advisory assistance to the Syrian army in its operations to eliminate terror groups.
Earlier in July, the Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad, in an interview with Iran's al-Aalam News Network said that his country needs the assistance of Iranian advisers and Hizbollah forces in Syria.
"Iran does not have any military bases in Syria, unlike Russia, but he said that if there is "a need for Iranian military bases, we will not hesitate to provide them," Syrian President insisted.
Syria has been gripped by foreign-backed militancy since March 2011. The Syrian government says the Israeli regime and its Western and regional allies are aiding Takfiri terrorist groups wreaking havoc in the country.
All initiatives with the purpose of putting an end to Syria's seven-year-old conflict have failed so far. 101
