Iran Press/ Iran news: According to an Iran Press report, speaking in a parliamentary session, president Hassan Rouhani said over the last few weeks and months, we have seen the Iranian people decisively scupper America's plots and schemes against the Iranian nation. From a political point of view, we have scored a historic and unprecedented political victory over the United States.
President Rouhani pointedly added: "It is very rare indeed that the US takes a major decision in relation to a country, and virtually all traditional US allies have not supported or accompanied the United States on this decision."
Addressing parliamentarians in the Majlis president Rouhani said: "World public opinion knows the Islamic Republic of Iran as a country which honours and abides by its international commitments and obligations. World public opinion also knows the United States as a country which does not honour its commitments and a country which frequently ignores or disregards international law. From a political point of view, we have the upper hand in relation to the United States."
He added: "Who would have thought that Iran would achieve a legal victory over the United States in an international court of law, on three separate occasions, all within a period of a few months? In an international court of law at the Hague, Netherlands, we have won two separate legal battles against the US in the past few months."
President Hassan Rouhani also referred to the Arba'een mourners and pilgrims saying: “At a time when enemies have planned conspiracies against us, making 13 Aban ( 4 November) a code for their criminal acts, our people’s glorious Arba'een mourning procession means deep bonds with the progeny of Prophet Muhammad”.
Appreciating the speaker and members of the parliament, the President added: “I appreciate extraordinary session of the parliament in this critical period to help the government complete its cabinet”.
President Rouhani also went on to state that in countering US’ economic and psychological war, we need to stand together, saying, “Without a doubt, the government is at the forefront of this war, but winning this war won’t be possible without the support and help of the parliament, the judiciary, armed forces and above all, the guidance of the Leader of the Islamic revolution”.
Commenting on his nominees for four ministerial posts, Rouhani said: “Today, we want to appoint four officials to the cabinet with your vote of confidence, so that the government will be able to resolve people’s problems”.
He added: “Today, the people of Iran will see that the government and parliament are together and they are determined to resolve all people’s problems one after the other.”
