Iran Press/ Iran News: Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf on Saturday in a message to political and religious figures of the Shia world congratulated the arrival of Eid al-Ghadir, saying: "In the current critical situation of the Islamic world and in the shadow of adhering to the Holy Quran and the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH), it is necessary to take and realize our strong and unifying steps with unity and practice of the teachings of pure Islam."
Eid al-Ghadir, which falls on August 8 this year, is one of the great Eids of Muslims. The Eid coincides with the 18th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the month of the Hajj pilgrimage. Iran is holding the celebration of Eid al-Ghadir on Saturday.
Eid al-Ghadir is a day when the Prophet of Islam appointed Ali ibn Abi Talib, the first Shia Imam, as his successor and Muslims’ next leader. 207/214
