Iran, Pakistan to facilitate bilateral trading cooperation

Quetta (IP) - The Iranian Consul General in Quetta, Pakistan, announced plans to hold a joint meeting of the Zahedan and Quetta Chambers of Commerce in the near future with the aim of facilitating trade activities and helping to remove obstacles to bilateral cooperation.

Iran PressAsia: On Wednesday, Hassan Darwishvand, in a meeting with the chairman and members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Quetta, the capital of Pakistan's Balochistan province, added: "Necessary solutions for removing obstacles in the field of trade cooperation, especially between neighboring border provinces, are being considered by the officials of the two countries."

Appreciating the role of the Quetta Chamber in promoting trade relations between the two neighboring countries, he assured that the Islamic Republic of Iran will play its role in removing all obstacles to pave the ground for trading between the two countries.

Referring to the joint achievements of Iran and Pakistan in strengthening trade relations between the two countries over the past year, including the opening of new official customs and significant progress in creating a common border checkpoint market, he said that the perspective of trade relations between the two countries was very clear and encouraging.

The businessmen present at the meeting, while appreciating the efforts of the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Quetta and his colleagues, pointing to the two countries 'capabilities to strengthen trade relations, stressed that the two governments' policies for closer Iran-Pakistan trading relations are very promising and encouraging.

During the meeting, Fida Hussain Dashti , President of the Quetta Chamber of Commerce, expressed hope that immediate steps would be taken to resolve these problems.

He added that the promotion of bilateral trade between Pakistan and Iran guarantees economic stability and the well-being of people living on both sides of the border.
