Iran Press/ Iran News: Mohammad Sadiq Khan, the special envoy of the Prime Minister of Pakistan for Afghanistan affairs, who has traveled to the Islamic Republic of Iran to consult on the developments in Afghanistan, met and talked with Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian on Tuesday.
In this meeting, Amir Abdollahian stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers Pakistan's security as its own security and announced Tehran's readiness for cooperation that will strengthen the security of the region.
Iran's top diplomat, referring to the presence of more than four and a half million Afghan nationals in Iran, more than one and a half million of whom have arrived in Iran after the developments in Afghanistan last year during the rise of the Taliban to power in this country, emphasized on the stability and security in Afghanistan, which would lead to the return of refugees to their country.
Also, he emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran uses all its capacities to establish peace and tranquility in Afghanistan and the welfare of the people of this country."
In this meeting, Amir Abdollahian announced the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to hold an extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers of Afghanistan's neighboring countries.
In this meeting, Sadiq Khan, the special envoy of the Prime Minister of Pakistan for Afghanistan affairs, also explained Pakistan's views on the current developments in Afghanistan and the conditions of this country, which, due to internal reasons and external pressures, have caused a decrease in the living standards of the Afghan people and an increase in insecurity.
He emphasized the importance of the constructive role of countries in the region and neighboring Afghanistan, especially Iran and Pakistan.
Referring to his positive consultations with Iranian officials, the special envoy of the Prime Minister of Pakistan emphasized: "The two countries of Iran and Pakistan are the most affected by the developments in Afghanistan due to the large influx of refugees, the decrease in the living standards of the people of this country, the increase in insecurity and the growth of drug trafficking."
He added: Iran and Pakistan's cooperation can help the people of Afghanistan and significantly reduce the harmful effects of the aforementioned situation on the people and the region.
