Iran Press/ Asia: Iran's Cultural Attache in Japan Hossein Divsalar who attended the ceremony said Iran-Japan cultural and historical relations date back to over 1300 years, with film and cinema art as the most important grounds of cooperation between the two countries.
Divsalar expressed hope that with the further development of Iran and Japan's familiarity with each other, cooperation and interaction between the two great nations develop.
Senior Planning Director for Tokyo International Film Festival Yoshihiko Yatabe for his part congratulated Iran's third film festival in Japan and appreciated the level and quality of Iranian films, directors, and artists as high and precious.
He also expressed hope that the cinematic relations between the two countries would expand even more.
The film festival was held by the cooperation of the Cultural Attache Office of the Iranian Embassy in Japan and the Japanese relevant agencies, where 7 Iranian films are screened.
On the first day of the festival, about 300 Japanese people and a group of Iranian residents participated while observing the health protocols including social distancing.
An exhibition of artistic and cultural works also was held on the sidelines of the festival.
