Kuala Lumpur (IP): The special adviser to the Malaysian foreign minister on Afghanistan and the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Malaysia discussed providing assistance to the Afghan people on Thursday.

Iran PressAsia: According to Iran Press News Agency, Ahmad Azam Abdul Rahman, Malaysian Foreign Minister's Special Advisor on Afghanistan met with Ali Asghar Mohammadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to  Malaysia, to discuss developments in Afghanistan and Iran-Malaysia activities to help the Afghan people.

The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Malaysia also expressed his readiness to direct the assistance of the Malaysian government and non-governmental organizations to Kabul, explaining Iran's positions and efforts in sending humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

The Malaysian Foreign Minister's Special Adviser on Afghanistan also stressed the need to send immediate assistance to the Afghan people and expressed hope that Islamic countries would help Afghanistan in this critical situation.

Referring to the important and effective position of Tehran in the developments in the region, Ahmad Azam Abdul Rahman considered the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran as one of the main routes to help Afghanistan undeniable and described Iran's readiness to send humanitarian aid to Afghanistan  very valuable and vital.
