Iran, India Trade Cooperation conference held in Kolkata

The Iran-India Trade Cooperation Conference was held in Kolkata with the cooperation of India's UCO Bank.

Iran Press/ Asia: More than 100 Indian businessmen and managers discussed the ways to develop business relations between Iran and India at the conference on Monday.

In a meeting with the management of UCO Bank of India, Iran's ambassador to India Ali Chegeni emphasized the necessity and possibility of developing trade relations between the two sides.

Chegeni also emphasized the facilitation and acceleration of the banking and trade relations between the two countries. 

 

The total value of bilateral trade between Iran and India was about $2 billion in 2018. India's exports to Iran include rice, tea, oil and soybean meal, carbon electrodes for electrical apparatus, and extracts from oil, paper, and medicine.

On the other side, its imports from Iran include products such as petroleum, natural and synthetic chemicals, and chemical fertilizers.

The index of India's volume of trade with Iran has increased from 3.4 to 4.13 in the last three years, indicating the importance of Iran's trade to India.
